4 time-saving hacks to streamline your life

Ask anybody what one thing would improve the quality of their life, and they would probably say ‘more time’. More hours in the day, an extra day a week to catch up with personal admin – we all seem to be rushing from one task to the next without enough time to properly rest and relax.
In this article we’ve come up with four fun time-saving hacks to help you reclaim some of that precious time back.

The two-minute rule

This was made famous by David Allen in his book Get Things Done, and it’s exactly as it sounds – if you come across a job that you know is going to take less than two minutes to complete, do it right then.

It manages to capture all those jobs that you put off, like booking a dental appointment or deworming the cat – the small jobs that end up taking way more headspace than they deserve. Getting them done right there and then feels like a huge weight has been lifted and gives you a big sense of accomplishment to match.

Batch the boring stuff

We’ve all been bored to tears by the friend who goes on about their batch cooking Sundays, but perhaps they’ve got a point, and not just regarding food. Group together the jobs that you find drain your time and energy, like laundry, admin and meal planning, and do them all in one go.

Set a timer if you need to – give yourself one hour to blitz through as much as possible, (maybe with a reward at the end), and you’ll be amazed at how much you can achieve.

Speeding up your house sale

If you’ve ever sold a house, you’ll appreciate that although it can take a bit of time to get things sorted, you just want to get moving, start redecorating and arranging your houseplants!

An easy way to cut out any uncertainty and significantly speed up the process is to use a cash buyer, like We Buy Any Home. They can help when you want to sell a house fast, as they’ll give you a free cash offer in minutes, and you could have the cash in the bank in as little as seven days. That will free up your time and allow you to focus on all the exciting parts of moving.

Give yourself a digital detox

Ever wondered how much time you waste reading emails you’ve forgotten why you signed up for, or checking apps you don’t even need? Let’s agree it’s probably a lot. Instead, book in some time to make your phone a more peaceful place to be. Delete apps you’ve not used in the last three months, unsubscribe to all those sales emails and, if you’re up for a challenge, delete at least one social media app. There are even tools to bulk unsubscribe from emails if your inbox leaves you sweating.
Give these hacks a go, and we promise you’ll have more free time and feel better about yourself in the process!
