A live roulette or blackjack game may look like a simple video call with a dealer, but the broadcast is only one part of the system. The physical table, cards, cameras and presenter must remain synchronised with the betting interface used by every player joining the game.
The result has to be recorded accurately and sent to many devices at once. Bets must also close before the ball settles or the next card is dealt. If the picture arrives late, the software still needs to make sure that everybody follows the same round.
When someone joins a live table through a new online casino, they are connecting to a purpose-built studio rather than controlling a private video stream. Numerous players can watch the same dealer, place separate bets and receive individual balance updates after one shared outcome.
The dealer works inside a broadcast studio
Live dealer tables are usually located in controlled studios designed for continuous broadcasting. The layout resembles a physical gaming floor, but lighting, camera positions and equipment are arranged around the needs of online viewers.
A blackjack table may use one camera for a full view of the dealer and another for close shots of the cards. Roulette can include separate angles for the wheel, betting layout and presenter.
